Exactly 5 pounds from goal on this morning's weigh in. Very excited about this new low. BFC has really become a way of life for me and I can't believe I am losing weight/fat while eating things like butter, nuts and whipping cream. Obviously sugar was my trigger.
My mom is on her way so I wanted to knock out a quick blog about the brushes I found at WalMart last week. These have become my go to brushes for eyes. There are three double ended brushes in the set for $8.95 here... I don't know the brand because it doesn't say on packaging but look at Walmart around where brushes are and you might find the very same ones. I love the slanted eye brush
because the edge is really tapered which allows me to draw thin lines.
I use the one flatter eye brush (which is quite stiff) to apply my highlight (usually LWG) to my brow and inner corner of the eye-- this brush allows it to look more like a sheen rather than mineral e/s. The fluffy opposite end is a great blender brush. I use the top brush to apply most of my eye colors because the big fluffy head quickly blends shadows perfectly- especially when I am going for less color saturation. The opposite end is a very dense (yet not prickly) pointed brush that is ideal for tight places and laying down a lot of color at once. Worthy additions to my brush collection. Definitely going with me for travel!!
I also found these individual brushes for less than $3 each-
the double ended one isn't as nice as the version that came in the 3 brush set... the bristles are a little stiffer and the head isn't as nicely formed. The white one reminds me of the renowned Maxine Mop that many buy at hobby stores. I like this one better because the handle is shorter. Very good brush for patting on a lot of color and I believe this was under $2 if I remember correctly.
I also tried a new SPF
as you can see from the following photo,
the texture is much thinner and liquid than most sunblock- similar to liquid makeup, maybe even a little more liquid. It does feel quite weightless under makeup and I would repurchase even at the $11 price for the very small bottle.
Here's some photos of the window treatments I did for the neighbor-
she wanted just a thin side panel on one side of each window and then I found pattern for this cornice because the one she originally wanted required 8 special knobs to hang them at $11 and up each.
This pattern was very similar to the one she chose but on the pattern the pleats were in the same fabric but I did it with the same fabric as the panels. The main fabric is a harlequin like one- the diamonds are brown or a sage green with gold and rust borders and Xs in them. The background is a somewhat rusty red. The panels and pleats are a dark and light gold stripe (very thin.) I think they turned out terrific.
FOTD

Lips- Chicory Liner (Botanics) and Loreal Taffeta lipstick topped w/ Sexy Motherpucker gloss in Super Starry.

Nice liner! You know I was going through my binder of samples and came across one of your shadows that I purchased from you. The name escapes me now. It was a nice teal/blue color. Loved it!!
I should check out the brushes at Walmart. I've been looking for a backup crease brush.
You didn't like the sunblock that you purchased online? Something Nature's Gate? For some reason I always call it Heaven's Gate. LOL You know I haven't been using it lately and now I don't like it anymore. lol I've been using Physician's formula Healthy Wear SPF 50 pressed powder (lightest shade) and I love it!!!!
Love the window treatments. I've done drapes for my daughter's and son's room but they're just straight up and down and nothing fancy like yours. LOL
Way to go on your weight loss. I've been going to kickboxing for months now and I haven't seen any weight loss and have only gained. :-(

I'd definitely recommend that set of brushes- at $9 for 6 brush heads (or 5 if you hate the spoolie) they are a bargain. Crease brush is really soft as is the small "face brush" (I guess you could use it for blush in a pinch but I like bigger brushes) The opposite end of crease brush is probably what they call pencil brush because it's quite stiff but not prickly (like HIP liner brush-- that thing is deadly if used for lining- OUCH- it is my favorite brow brush. LOL) The concealer brush is stiff too but I like it.I still have the Nature's Gate spf but found it rather PITA to apply-- definitely goes on white and takes a while to sink in. Plus felt a bit heavy. I will be using it for body spf though. When I started doing window treatments they were pretty plain- I've gotten better at them since getting my machine 14 years ago. Kick boxing-- I don't want to make you mad- you'll kick my @$$ LOL. Sometimes when you gain weight it's because you've put on muscle--- muscle is denser than fat but muscle also helps burn more calories so better to be a heavier muscular than lighter flabby right? :-D Down over 1/2 a pound since yesterday... new low. Little nervous about this weekend- going to in-laws and will have to take some food myself-- they tend to have high sugar, high carb stuff. I'll take almonds to snack on and fix eggs and toast for breakfast instead of eating cinnamon rolls. LOL

You're so right about that Nature's Gate sunscreen. I don't know why I didn't notice it before but after using it for months and months at the end I started noticing that it was all that. I use it on my kids now since they're not sensitive to it being heavy or what not.
That is what everyone keeps telling me about kickboxing and how the weight I'm gaining is muscle but I really hate seeing the scale go up. I need to stop going on that scale.

Give up the scale!! LOL

Thanks, I was so happy to be able to give her the same look as what she wanted without the $90 in hardware associated with what she picked out.
